Springing into Spring- Let's Celebrate!

After several days of raw, rainy weather, today finally felt like spring. And how better to celebrate than with a giveaway?

Martingale, Island Batik, and Ackfeld Manufacturers (makers of these adorable mini quilt stands) are sponsors. As an Island Batik Ambassador, I have a copy of "Little Gems" to give away to one of my blog followers; you also have a chance of winning prizes from Island Batik and Ackfeld.

This is my version of Daisy Daze, made from Island Batik fabrics. The bright colors are from the "Full Bloom" line, and remind me of my multi-colored portulaca. I chose to make this pattern for the blog hop because I just love the little yo-yos, but truly, all the patterns are so cute that you'll want to make every one of  them. The title is so perfect; every pattern is a gem.

So how do I enter to win? It's easy. Comment below, telling me why you deserve to win. Make it funny; everyone needs a few laughs. Then follow this blog. On April 20th I will choose a winner by random number generator.  And don't forget to go back to my previous post where you will find contact info for ALL the Island Batik Ambassadors who are participating- you can enter there too!

Good luck!

  2. I "need" to win this book because I finished a project today so there are only ten projects on my to-do list now! I love the book and your yo-yo quilt.

  3. Why do I need this book? I have only done one paper pieced block-ever. I have a collection of buttons that fills half a dozen Kraft Peanut Butter Bear jars and I need to use some of them before they explode!

  4. I really need small projects to work on at my UFO Saturdays with the girls because they laugh at me when I haul in the 5 bags full of all my junk. They think I'm spending the night not just the day. This would be perfect.

  5. A lovely little mini! The book is perfect for me, because I need to make a lot of tiny quilts! I follow your blog and I have a little joke to share:

Heard between to women at a guild meeting:
    "My husband is an angel!"
"You're lucky, mine is still alive..."

  7. My husband told me I can't buy any more fabric until I use up what I have. These small paper pieced projects would be perfect for using all the scraps I will have from all the other projects I need to make. Oh, what was I thinking! I just remembered. I could use the book now. I have 3 grocery bags full of scraps!

  20. I deserve to win this book because I live in the country and am relegated to satellite internet, and don't get to watch video because of download limits.
You who have cable, DSL, etc, be thankful! HAHAHA!

  21. Why do I deserve to win? Because I live in Iowa where we've had a terribly long, frigid winter and I want some color in my life! I am tired of seeing white snow, muddy brown grass and gray slush for what seems like forever. Bring on the color of this fabric collection and give me new life!

    ReplyDelete
  22. I should win this because I have a three year old. Yes, that's right. A darling, insane, full of energy 3 year old. I need something to help me relax. Making a small quilt, or taking the ideas and making them into larger quilts, is just what I need to unwind.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Love your mini! I deserve to win because I need to get rid of my scraps before my dog finds them and eats them(yes he eats fabric). I don't think fabric is great for dogs so please save my dog! In truth I keep them out of his way, so don't worry!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  24. I deserve to win since Saturday was my birthday! This book would help to make a dent in my scraps. And then, of course, I could but more fabric. Which would lead to more scraps to use. ~ the cycle of scraps

    ReplyDelete
  25. I'd love to win because I need practice with color choices. I could make a bunch of mini's (tops, that is) of fabrics that I think go together and yet, probably no one else would. I've made some pretty ugly tops along the way!! Trust me.

  26. Oh my - I really need to WIN a copy of this book because my hubby has threatened my life if I buy one more book! Naaah - not really! He's very encouraging with my addiction! I love your mini & since I've never "really" paper pieced (only one block in a BOM once) I'd sure love to give these little gems a try. Thanks so much for another chance to win :)

  32. I deserve to win because as "conservator" of an "extensive textile collection" for 30+years, I either need to liquidate it (which will never happen!) or I need to use it up. That being said, to use it up, I have determined that my life expectancy needs to be about 300 yrs old. So, this book of Little Gems will help to use some of it up quickly. And besides, who doesn't like a mini quilt?! I make them to have on hand for hostess & house warming gifts....I usually mat & frame them to give. Thanks for the chance to win!

    ReplyDelete
  59. I deserve to win this Little gem because we just celebrated my husband's 62 Birthday and he got all of the gifts! Nothing for me except that it could be considered that I was gifted with the menu planning, gift wrapping, cooking and baking, and the cleaning and the recycling afterwards were considered. Which were necessary but not fun!
This looks like it would be a chance for me to play and I deserve that!

  79. I'm afraid I don't have much of a sense of humour when I'm put on the spot like this, not like my sister who can crack a joke anywhere, anytime, any place but usually it's my oldest brother that is the wise guy of my brothers but his sense of humour is really dry...what was the question or was there even a question, no I think I was supposed to buy fabric but I really need thread and I'm all out of black thread but the quilt shop is closed today so I 'm just going to get some groceries once I finish my laundry but I hate doing laundry but not as much as cleaning bathrooms, I think I'm just going to sit at the computer instead and creep around some blogs I like, Oh look there is one with a giveaway but I have to be funny and I'm not so I guess I'll just read what everyone else is writing and get an idea on how to crack a joke!!!
